Genealogy by the States – Week 48 – Arizona

This entry was posted by on Sunday, 1 December, 2013 at

This week’s blogging prompt is the State of Arizona. Blog about an ancestor or your families connection to Arizona. If you don’t have any connections to Arizona, find a Arizona resource useful for genealogy research to highlight and write about. This week’s prompt runs from 12/1/2013 – 12/7/2013. If you choose to follow along, I would appreciate a mention to the Hidden Genealogy Nuggets website.

As of now, I have yet to find any family connections to Arizona. Therefore I will highlight one resource from Arizona. The Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records has a wonderful collection of online records. Check out the Arizona Digital Newspaper Program. There are quite a few digital copies of early newspapers. For advice on using newspapers for genealogical research, see an earlier post on Hidden Genealogy Nuggets.

Another interesting section of this website is the Arizona Memory Project.
