Boy my personal life really kicked me for a loop and I hadn’t finished what I started. I’m trying to get back to it now after a long absence.
I did not have any relatives from Missouri. The State Historical Society of Missouri has an absolutely fabulous online primary documents. Check out some of the documents in the section The American Civil War in Missouri. The Missouri Digital Newspaper Project is another great section to try out.

Given my early colonial New England roots, I was surprised to find out that I did not have a lot of connections to the state of Maine. My closest connection is a first cousin, twice removed. As it appears to be a common theme lately, he is also a descendant of John Charles Sanders and Mary Clark Tripp.
George Joseph Sanders was born on 03-Nov-1906 in New Britain, Hartford County, Connecticut. He married Ethel H. Pichard on 22-May-1943 in Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut. He died in February 1985. His last known address was in Waldoboro, Lincoln County, Maine
A have a few notes my father had recorded about him including;
- He was a retired toolmaker at Lewis Engineering Co. in Naugatuck, CT
- He was also a licensed amateur radio operator since 1923. His call sign K1GZI
- According to his mothers obituary, George lived in Cheshire, Ct in 1956

William Clifford Sanders was my second cousin one time removed. We both descend from John Charles Sanders and Mary Clark Tripp. John Charles Sanders and Mary Clark Tripp have quite a number of descendants. This particular line of Sanders, we kind of lost contact with.
He was born on 23-Aug-1937 in Waterbury, New Haven County, Connecticut. married to Rheba Kay Nobles in Alabama. He was married to Rheba on 28-Sep-1963 in Opelika, Lee County, Alabama (my family connection to Alabama). He died on 03-Apr-2001 in Oshkosh, Winnebago county, Wisconsin.
William Clifford Sanders is a former professor at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. According to the faculty and staff directories he last appears in 1999-2000. According to some notes I have, he was a professor of German. I’m not sure where he picked up his German as our family, at least the Sanders line, doesn’t have a strong connection to Germany.

Ralph Barnard Trousdale was my second cousin twice removed. We both descend from Henry Lewer Sanders, who is the first of my line of Sanders to immigrate to the United States.
Ralph was born on 25-Jan-1876 in Brooklyn, Kings, New York, USA. He was the son of James Barnard Trousdale and Mary Barbara Valdivia. Mary was the daughter of Rafael Joseph Valdivia and Frances Augusta Sanders. Frances was the daughter of Henry Lewer Sanders and Barbara Anne Warwick.
Ralph married Anna Louise Hayward on 27-Jan-1904 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois (my Illinois Connection). Ralph and Anna had at least two children James and Louise. Ralph died on 09-Sep-1933 in Garden City, Nassau, New York. He was only 57 at the time of his death.
