Genealogy by the States – Week 29 – Iowa

This week’s blogging prompt is the State of Iowa. Blog about an ancestor or your families connection to Iowa. If you don’t have any connections to Iowa, find a Iowa resource useful for genealogy research to highlight and write about. This week’s prompt runs from 7/21/2013 – 7/27/2013. If you choose to follow along, I would appreciate a mention to the Hidden Genealogy Nuggets website.

I have only a very small connection to the state of Iowa to talk about. That connection is Helen Logan. She is a first cousin twice removed from my children. She was born on March 20 1937 in Scranton, Arkansas. She died on March 31, 2004 in Oakland, California. Her body was brought back to Arkansas and is buried in Poole Cemetery in Scranton. Her social security card was issued in Iowa. I do not have any further details about the time she spent in Iowa.
